Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Action RPG To Launch in Fall 2022

The Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness “incorrigible” action RPG will launch in Fall 2022 for PS4, Switch, and Steam, a trailer has revealed. Pre-orders for both the Standard and Collector’s Edition will open soon.

The trailer provides snippets of the Spike Chunsoft title’s gameplay and environments, as well a glimpse of the myriad dangers and violent elements that will be in the game. The game was announced in 2021.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will allow players to experience the anime’s story in one mode, while another mode will provide an original story from Made in Abyss mangaka Akihito Tsukushi. As the game’s Steam page describes, the original story is set “many days” after Riko and Reg have set out for the Abyss and will cover the “adventures of a nameless Cave Raider in the Abyss.”

There will also be many appearances from characters from the source material, and “event scenes” will be fully voiced by the anime’s cast.

The ongoing Takeshobo-published Made in Abyss manga began in 2012, while an anime series was released in 2017 and followed by a two-part compilation movie and the Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul film in 2019 and 2020 respectively. A second season of the anime will premiere in July 2022. Kinema Citrus is the animation production company for the anime.
