Extreme Hearts will begin airing on Japanese television stations on July 9, 2022. A new PV trailer and information about the anime’s OP theme song were also made available by the production team’s official Twitter.
The upcoming sports anime was previously announced to premiere sometime this upcoming summer. News of the original anime project was first made known back in early February of this year.
Miho Okasaki, who voices one of the anime’s heroine’s Saki Kodaka, will sing the opening theme song “Infinite.” The song can be heard halfway into the duration of the PV trailer. It is written by lyricist RUCCA, with composition and arrangement handled by EFFY of FirstCall.
Meanwhile, Ruriko Noguchi will voice Hiyori Hayama and Kana Yuuki will voice Sumika Maehara respectively.
Masaki Tsuzuki (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) is credited with the original planning and work and will write the anime’s screenplay. Junji Nishimura (Vlad Love) is the director and Waki Ikawa (Dog Days) is the original character designer. Issei Arakaki (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation) is the chief animation director and Kana Hashidate (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection) is an assistant in that department. Shuuichi Kawakami and Takuya Fujima (Warlords of Sigrdrifa) are helping out with additional character designs for the anime.
Anime News Network describes Extreme Hearts as:
The story is set in the future, not long after the present day. Hyper Sports, which use extreme gear as support items, have become popular hobby competitions among both children and adults. Hiyori Hayama is a high school singer who has nothing to do with Hyper Sports, but a certain incident sets the story in motion. “This is the story about how we met our greatest friends.”
