Kyoto Animation has uploaded a new 30-second teaser for the upcoming Tsurune – Hajimari no Issha – movie, which is set to premiere on August 19 in Japan. A key visual was also released on the Tsurune website.
The Tsurune series premiered in 2018 and is based on the 2016-2018 two-volume light novel series written by Kotoko Ayano with illustrations from Chinatsu Morimoto. The light novels are published under KyoAni’s KA Esuma Bunko label.
Crunchyroll describes the anime series as:
When Narumiya Minato joins Prefectural Kazemai High School, he is quickly invited to join the archery club by the club’s advisor, Tommy-sensei. His childhood friends Takehaya Seiya and Yamanouchi Ryohei swiftly agree to join, but Minato is hesitant at first. Because Minato is the rare student with experience in archery, Tommy-sensei orders him to give a demonstration, which Minato does… except his arrow doesn’t hit the target. It is revealed that Minato has developed a terrible dysfunction regarding archery.
The Tsurune – Hajimari no Issha – movie features returning series staff like Takuya Yamamura as director, Miku Kadowaki as character designer, Nobuaki Maruki as chief animation director, Shouko Ochiai as art director, Azumi Hata as color designer, and Kouhei Funamoto as photography director. Tsurune series composer Michiko Yokote is serving as script supervisor for the movie, while Yamamura is taking on writing duties.
