The isekai fantasy light novel series My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1 will be getting a television anime adaptation. Details about the production staff, voice cast, and animation studio have yet to be announced.
The light novels are written by Nazuna Miki and illustrated by Subachi. The series also inspired a manga adaptation with Mawata handling artwork for it. Both artists contributed special illustrations to commemorate news of the anime’s production.
Miki first published the light novel series on Shousetsuka ni Narou in February 2017, before formally publishing it in Kodansha’s Ranobe Books imprint in September 2017. Seven book volumes have been published as of May 5, 2022.
Mawata’s manga adaptation was first serialized on Kodansha’s Suiyoubi no Sirius website in May 2018. Eight tankoubon volumes of the manga series have been published, with a ninth volume set for release on May 9, 2022.
Kodansha USA licenses both the light novels and manga series in North America. They describe the story as:
Ryouta Sato gets the surprise of his life when he’s suddenly transported into another world and nearly clobbered at the hands of the young, pretty adventurer Emily Brown. This new world revolves around defeating monsters and profiting on whatever they drop—food, money, items, etc. Unfortunately for Ryouta, he has no skills to speak of…until he learns he has the ability to get rare drops! Suddenly his luck turns around…or does it?
