The upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island movie has released a new trailer, which previews the premise, mobile suit action, and the opening song “Ubugoe” by Hiroko Moriguchi. A 30-second version was also released.
Additionally, a main visual for the movie and additional cast members were revealed. The newly announced cast includes Fuu Hirohara as Cara and Yuuma Uchida as Marcos.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island is set to premiere in Japan on June 3. It is based on the original Mobile Suit Gundam series’ 15th episode of the same name.
Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director of the original series, is directing the movie. The other staff includes Im Ga-Hee (Sonny Boy episode director) as assistant director, Toshizou Nemoto (Bakuten!!) as scriptwriter, Yuuji Kaneko (Josee, Tiger and the Fish) as art director, Nagisa Abe (SCARLET NEXUS) as color designer, Morihito Abe (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway co-CG director) as CG director, and Takayuki Hattori (Space Brothers live-action movie) as music composer.
Additionally, Yasuhiko, Atsushi Tamura (Weathering with You co-character designer) and Tsukasa Kotobuki (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin co-character designer) are serving as character designers, while Kunio Okawara (GUNDAM BREAKER BATTLOGUE co-mecha designer, Mobile Suit Gundam) and Kimitoshi Yamane (Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway co-mecha designer) are serving as mecha designers with Katoki. Sunrise is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Tooru Furuya as Amuro Ray, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Cucuruz Doan, Ken Narita as Bright Noa, Satomi Arai as Mirai Yashima, Megumi Han as Sayla Mass, Toshio Furukawa as Kai Shiden, Hideki Nakanishi as Hayato Kobayashi, Misato Fukuen as Fraw Bow, and Tomofumi Ikezoe as Sleggar Law.
