Crunchyroll has announced that it will simulcast the upcoming Chainsaw Man anime “later this year.” A 2022 release window had been revealed in December last year in a “‘Chainsaw Man‘ Project” trailer.
Crunchyroll describes the anime as:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man”–a man with a devil’s heart.
The Chainsaw Man manga debuted in 2018 and is written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first part of the manga ran from 2019 to 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The second part will be serialized on the Shonen Jump+ app and website and is set to begin in Summer 2022.
