Sentai has announced that Revue Starlight The Movie will premiere in North America at Anime Central on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 8 PM . Following the premiere at ACEN, the film will be available in select theaters across North America on June 5, 2022 with an encore presentation on June 6, 2022.
Revue Starlight The Movie takes place after the 2018 anime series and follows Karen Aijo and Hikari Kagura as third years at Seisho Music Academy. “In the next chapter of their theatrical lives, these young women will face one another on the battlefield of the stage, where song, dance and thrilling swordplay collide to illustrate the rich emotional narratives of the film’s protagonists,” describes the press release.
Like the series, the film is produced by Kinema Citrus and sees the return of Tomohiro Furukawa as director, Takushi Koide as assistant director, Hiroyuki Saita as character designer, Higuchi Tatsuto as scriptwriter, and Tatsuya Kato and Yoshiaki Fujisawa as music composers.
