Key has posted a new trailer to promote its upcoming original anime project Prima Doll. The slice-of-life sci-fi anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2022. A specific air date will be provided at a later time.
The PV trailer highlights the main characters that will be featured in the show, as well as their respective seiyuu. Key originally confirmed the production of the original anime back in January 2022.
The main cast members of Prima Doll each have unique designs from different artists. They include Azumi Waki as Haizakura (character design by Na-Ga), Tomori Kusonoki as Karasuba (character design by fuzuchoco), Miyu Tomita as Gekka (character design by Yui Hara), Yuki Nakashima as Houkiboshi (character design by En Morikura), and Akari Kitou as Retzel (character design by lack).
Tenshou (Kin-iro Mosaic, Azur Lane) is the anime’s director. Touya Okano (Kaginado) and Kai (Rewrite) are handling the anime’s screenwriting. Akane Yano (Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki) is the chief animation supervisor and general character designer. Bibury Animation Studios will handle series’ animation production.
Prima Doll will follow five autonomous mechanical dolls, or automata, who work at a quiet coffee shop named Kuronekotei — located in the corner of the imperial capital’s fifth district. In the past, they served as weapons to protect people for a tragic war that has ended for a few years now. Now fully restored and clad in shiny kimonos, the automata must adapt to their newfound peaceful lives.
