The upcoming Laid-Back Camp movie has released its main visual, which depicts the five now-grown up main characters gathered around a campfire with Mount Fuji in the distance.

It was also announced that moviegoers in Japan will receive a special, limited quantity Volume 13.5 comic, which includes a 24-page Rin to Nadeshiko no Inagako Haru Camp “special episode” from Laid-Back Camp mangaka Afro. The special episode will connect the movie’s story to the high school era.

The volume, which numbers 84 pages in total, will include Afro’s character draft materials for the movie and a “recollection album” of the Laid-Back Camp anime series. It also features a cover illustration from Afro.

The Laid-Back Camp movie is set to open in Japan on July 1. The first and second seasons of the camping-themed series aired in 2018 and 2021 respectively, while a spin-off called ROOM CAMP aired in 2020.

Crunchyroll describes Laid-Back Camp as:

Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.

The Laid-Back Camp manga by Afro began in 2015 and has 13 tankoubon volumes as of March 2022. The Houbunsha-published manga was first serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward but is currently running in the COMIC FUZ app, and is published under the Manga Time KR Comics label.
