An anime adaptation of The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World light novel series is set to premiere in January 2023. Staff and cast details have not yet been revealed.
The light novels written by Nana Mikoshiba and illustrated by Riko Korie began in 2020, a year after the story began publication as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou. A manga adaptation by Sasaki Nobuhito began the same year.
Both the light novels and manga are published by Kodansha, with the former published under the Kodansha Light Novel Bunko label. There are five light novel volumes of The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World as of April 28, 2022.
Kodansha describes the manga as:
The Arnold Academy of Magic is a school for the elite…and Ray White is just your ordinary guy. In fact, he doesn’t seem particularly skilled with magic at all, and is a bit of a klutz. Which is why he has nothing to do with the rumor that one of the great magicians, the Iceblade Sorcerer, is a member of the incoming class…right?
