Pokémon: Hisuian Snow Anime To Premiere on May 18

Pokémon: Hisuian Snow, the previously announced Pokémon Legends: Arceus-inspired web anime, will release its first episode on May 18. The Wit Studio-produced series will have three episodes in total.

Staff and cast information about the series have also been revealed. As reported by Famitsu, the staff includes Ken Yamamoto (Princess ConnectRe:Dive Season 2 opening storyboarder and director) as director, Taku Kishimoto (The Deer King) as scriptwriter, KURO as character designer, Wit Studio’s Ayaka Nakamura (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) as color designer, Aoshashin’s Yuji Kaneko (Ranking of Kings) as art director, Wit Studio’s Takeru Yokoi (The Girl From The Other Side) as photography director, and Conisch as music composer.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Alec (Akio in the Japanese version), Rie Kugimiya as a younger Alec, and Rikiya Koyama as Aoki’s father.

The Pokémon website describes the anime as:

Available on Pokémon TV and the official Pokémon YouTube channel, Pokémon: Hisuian Snow tells the story of a boy named Alec and his encounter with a Hisuian Zorua. When he was younger, Alec’s father taught him that people and Pokémon cannot live together. But Alec’s interactions with the Zorua might offer a different lesson.

The Pokémon Legends: Arceus action RPG was released in January for Nintendo Switch. Featuring open areas, the game takes place earlier in the Pokémon timeline and sees the player trying to complete the region’s first Pokédex.

Previous Pokémon web anime include 2021’s Pokémon Evolutions, 2020’s PokéToon and Pokémon Twilight Wings, and 2016’s Pokémon Generations, all of which were released on YouTube.
