The My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex anime adaptation is set to premiere in July in Japan. A main trailer and a new visual were released in addition to the premiere date announcement.
Additional cast members were also revealed, including Ikumi Hasegawa as Akatsuki Minami, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kogure Kawanami, and Miyu Tomita as Isana Higashira.
The trailer previews the anime’s cast and the relationship between lead characters Mizuto Irido (Hiro Shimono) and Yume Irido (Rina Hidaka), as well as the opening song “Deneb and Spica” by DIALOGUE＋.
My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex is based on the light novels written by Kyousuke Kamishiro and illustrated by Takaya-Ki. The series began in 2018 and has eight volumes as of February 2022.

What was supposed to be a sanctuary of peace where I could avoid ever seeing her again has become a living nightmare! Everywhere I look, I see her—in my house, in my school, in my class. Project No.9 is the animation production company.
The My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex light novels are published under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label. The story began in 2017 as a web novel that was published on Kadokawa’s Kakuyomu website. The light novels inspired a manga adaptation by Rei Kusakabe in 2019.
