The upcoming Anime Supremacy (Haken Anime!) live-action movie has released a new trailer that pits its in-universe anime Soundback: Kanade no Ishi and Unmei Sensen Liddell-light against each other. The former is a mecha anime, while the latter belongs to the magical girl genre.
The trailer shows off footage from both anime in addition to the live-action portions of the film. Also previewed is the theme song “Éclair” by Genie High.
Anime Supremacy is set to premiere on May 20 in Japan. It is based on the novel by Mizuki Tsujimura, which Right Stuf describes as:
Japanese animation—the globally acclaimed, family-friendly theatrical features are the exception rather than the rule for a TV-oriented industry that has been pushed into late-night slots in an era of fragmented audiences. When only three titles among fifty might turn a profit, topping the charts is hardly an overambitious aim.

Anime Supremacy is directed by Kouhei Yoshino (Gone Wednesday) and written by Yousuke Masaike (Sabishii Oka de Kari wo Suru). Production I.G is involved with the production of the in-universe anime, while Toei Animation is credited with providing supervision for the movie. The cast includes Riho Yoshioka as Hitomi Saito, Tomoya Nakamura as Chiharu Oji, Tasuku Emoto as Osamu Yukishiro, and Machiko Ono as Kayako Arishima. Romi Park is narrating the movie.

The Anime Supremacy novel was first serialized in the An An women’s magazine from 2012 to 2014. A tankobon version was published in 2014, while a bunkobon version was published in 2017. The Japanese release featured illustrations from CLAMP, while its English translation featured illustrations from Hwei Lim.
